Toby
Toby was re-homed  in January 2016
This handsome fella was re-homed by New Lives Animal Rescue earlier in the year and was returned for reasons unknown. He was flown to Wellington where he is living with another Beagle and attending doggie daycare and where he is loving life.
We would love to find Toby a home where he is with another dog. He will not be re-homed where he is left all day on his own.
You must have good fencing to contain him in and he must be allowed to live inside when his people are home.
Toby is a very easy dog and nothing seems to faze him. He is good with dogs of all sizes and is fine with cats.

Cody
CODY IS NOW RE-HOMED

Cody is urgently looking for a new home. Cody is an eight year old desexed male, registered and vaccinated. Cody has a lovely temperament but he is lonely during the day and desperately needs company. We are looking for a home with canine company and extremely secure fencing. Cody is in Wellington.

Spud
SPUD IS NOW RE-HOMED

Can anyone help Spud? She is very lonely. She has spent her whole life with two other dogs who are no longer with her. We are looking for foster care or even better a forever home for her.
Spud is in Christchurch. Spud will be 9 in March. She is vaccinated and registered but will need desexing. She is a lovely tan and white Beagle with very pale markings and she has one brown eye and one blue eye.
Spud is good with children and other animals. She has always lived with cats. She loves the company of people and really loves belly rubs. She is good off the lead, likes to walk but also likes to just relax in the sun.

Picture
Rosie
ROSIE IS NOW RE-HOMED

We are looking for a fantastic home for a very special soul. Rosie didn't have a good start to life. She was kept chained up and alone. She was rescued by a very kind lady but became stressed by the other pets in the household. She is now in foster care.
We are looking for a home where Rosie will be the only pet. Experience dog handling is essential and even better if you have Beagle experience. Rosie is very sweet and affectionate, she needs a patient and loving home where she can live up to her true potential.

Leo, Spud, and Abby

LEO, ABBY AND SPUD ARE NOW RE-HOMED

Gorgeous Leo (almost 6), Spud (8) and Abby (almost 5) are looking for a new home. They are Mum, Dad and Daughter, so ideally we would like to find them a home together. They could go separately but would need canine company or someone who is around for a lot of the day. Their owner is reluctantly re-homing them due to very genuine reasons.

All dogs sit and wait for food. All good off leash in dog parks. Good with other animals. (We have always had cats). Good with children but have all was been watchful as any owner would. Never had problem with biting but will give little growl when had enough. Mostly come when called. Always been inside dogs with dog door. All love cuddles. Spud and Abby like to hop on chair and cuddle at night with people. All like walks but also like to lay in sun and are not hyper active. All like company of people. Abby did some work at Burwood Hospital as a therapy dog before the earth quakes. Leo likes to be under a blanket an night. Spud loves belly rubs .

Maybe
MAYBE IS NOW RE-HOMED

I am looking for very special foster care (or even better a forever home) for a very special dog.
Maybe is a sweet natured loving girl who likes lots of company and regular gentle walks. Sadly Maybe has had many problems with skin allergies which has been stressful for her. It has also created some medical issues which I will discuss in detail with interested parties.
We are looking for a home where someone is around a lot of the day and that person has lots of experience with dogs (even better if it's Beagle experience). Maybe deserves to be the centre of attention so possibly a retired person/couple with lots of time to spare and love to give. As is standard for Beagles, a high secure fence is a must.
Maybe is in Auckland and is looking for a new home because her family just don't have the time she requires. If you would like to learn more about Maybe please e mail me telling me about yourself, your family, your household setup and experience with dogs. I will reply with a detailed history and needs of this special girl.

CHICO IS NOW RE-HOMED

Hi my name is Chico and I need a new forever home. I am extremely friendly and my ideal home would include a family that is active and can take me for walks and play with me every day. I need a good sized, fully fenced and secured backyard to play in and maybe another friendly dog to play with would be great too! I just turned 3 and I am a typical Beagle that is very nosy and hungry. I need to be part of the action. Food is my favourite thing in the whole world. I like children and can tolerate almost anything.
I have been neutered, am house trained and have had basic training so I will come to you with good manners. My current family love me very much and have spoiled me with the best of everything but a change in family circumstances means I'm looking for a new place to call home.
Mum and dad told me that I have to get their permission before I go, so if you would like me to live with you, you will need to meet with us and tick all of their boxes first. I will bring my bed, toys, food and leads etc with me.

LENNY AND TOBY ARE NOW RE-HOMED

Lenny (the tan and white) has gone off to be a detector dog with MAF. Toby is still waiting patiently for his forever home. He is still in foster care and has learnt a lot. Toby is a kind, affectionate fellow but he is a typical Beagle so needs a home that will continue with the basic manners and boundaries he has been learning. He is great with other dogs and originally came from a family with several children.

Baxter
BAXTER IS NOW RE-HOMED

Hello! My name is Baxter and I am an independent gentleman who is very sweet and well socialised.

I am a typical Beagle ad if I catch a scent I like you may find it hard to get my attention back to you!
I am fine with other dogs, but maybe not so much with cats as I’m sometimes OK but then sometimes will show a little too much interest in the cats. I love food and am very motivated. I have quite a few commands on me like come, sit, down, stay – but my recall might not be too fabulous in an interesting environment.
I would really like to play with you and I especially like noisy toys and balls.
I will be best suited with an owner who knows my breed type – I am a real character with a great sense of humour.
I do have medium exercise requirements (daily walks if about 2-3km) and low grooming requirements – I want to come home with you!

Picture
Arnie
ARNIE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Seven month old Arnie is looking for a home. He was bred by MAF for the detector dog programme but he is a little wary of new people and places to be suitable. He needs a home where there is another dog present as he gets very bored without canine company. He also needs to be with someone who is very patient and ideally has experience with sensitive dogs.

Picture
BAXTER IS NOW RE-HOMED

Baxter needs a new home. He is a lovely tricolour Beagle who will be 5 in June.
He is vaccinated, microchipped and desexed. Baxter has been to puppy and dog classes and is very well trained. He can even be walked off lead at places like the beach or the bush. Baxter is well socialized with other dogs and could live with a cat. He is great with children.
Baxter is an inside dog who likes to be part of the family so he is looking for a family who can offer lots of love, attention and walks.

MOLLY IS NOW RE-HOMED

Molly is urgently looking for a new home. Sadly her family's son is allergic to her.
Molly is almost 6 months old. She is a female tricolour with mostly white markings. She is vaccinated, microchipped and registered but will need to be desexed once she is old enough. She is toilet trained but doesn't like the dark so she likes someone to go with her at night. Molly is a sweet friendly girl who loves cuddles. She is great with kids and has been well socialised with lots of different dogs. She is just getting used to walking on a harness and lead.

Molly needs a home that is familiar with the Beagle breed. There needs to be a lot of company, ideally another dog.

ELLA IS NOW RE-HOMED

Gorgeous Ella needs a new home. She is alone all day and is very bored and lonely.
Ella is vaccinated, microchipped, dexsexed and registered. She is sociable, good with other dogs and children. She has basic training, though like most Beagles can be strong willed. She will need a securely fenced section. She loves walking, outings in the car and just being part of the family.
Ella is looking for a home where there is another dog or someone home during the day. If you can offer lots of love and attention please contact Ella's family .

OSCAR IS NOW RE-HOMED

Oscar urgently needs a loving new home. Due to people moving on, Oscar has been re-homed twice in the past year and is now at the SPCA in Rotorua.
Oscar is 5 years old. He is not currently neutered but this is planned for the New Year. Understandably he is a little subdued at the SPCA. His sign over papers say he loves water, is excellent with children and is OK with cats. (He will chase if they run but is learning they are his friend, especially if the cat lets him know who is boss.)

BANSHI AND ELMO ARE NOW RE-HOMED

Banshi and Elmo are urgently looking for a new home. Their family is very sad to be finding a new home but the children have allergies which are getting worse.
Banshi is the female, sitting in the pics. She is a calm and placid dog. Loves the outdoors and loves running around with sticks. She likes sleeping in the sun. She seems to be the one in charge with her calmness. She is a little hunter though and loves the chase.
Elmo is the male. He is a very playful dog. He loves kids and gets really excited when you hide things for him to find. He loves his family and loves being inside with people. At heart he is a big softy and a real puppy. This does mean that he is a bit of a scaredy cat. He doesn't like unexpected noises and harsh handling. He needs a soft touch. If you have bigger kids that can play fetch with him they will be busy for hours. Both dogs are fantastic with kids and have been socialised with other dogs. No experience with cats.
They are vaccinated, registered and microchipped. Neither is desexed yet. (If the dogs are taken together, the owner will have Elmo desexed prior to re-homing.)
Both have basic training. Price is negotiable, the right home is the priority. Banshi and Elmo are located in Auckland. Ideally Banshi and Elmo would like to find a home together. They are lovely dogs that will thrive being part of the family.

BAXTER IS NOW RE-HOMED

We have just had our second child and Baxter is no longer getting the care and attention he deserves. He needs to be in a home where he will get lots of walks and interaction, with lots of cuddles and pats.
Baxter is a five years old (6 in April), neutered, male, tricolour Beagle. He is registered and microchipped. He has a Purebred Puppy Certificate from Lady Gay's Pet Centre to verify he is a purebred Beagle. He has no known health issues.
Baxter is such a lovely dog. He is very placid and the happiest when he is out on walks smelling around and meeting other dogs or chewing away on a bone.
Baxter is generally good with kids - we have a 2 year old and he is happy to be petted by her and other kids that come up to him. However if he sees kids running/squealing in the park he can sometimes take fright and run up to them and bark. When we see that situation in front of us, we would either distract him with something more interesting we have (food!) or pop him on the leash until we have passed them.
Baxter currently lives with a fox terrier. Baxter loves other dogs, he particularly loves to chase other dogs (if they are up for it!) when at parks or the beach. Baxter has not been socialised with cats. Our neighbours do have cats which he barks at when they are outside our fence.
Baxter does spend a lot of time indoors and he is toilet trained. He does have a tendency to take free rein of the house (following his nose), which we're not overly keen on. So both dogs sleep in a large cage overnight to ensure they aren't wandering around in the night (the worry is more that Baxter would sneak into our bed! As he does like his home comforts.)
He is quite good off leash, in coming back when called and does stick quite close by.
His last vet visit was in March 2011 when he had his annual check up and vaccinations. Worm and flea treatments are up to date.

DUKE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Duke is a 5-year-old tricolour male Beagle. He is microchipped, registered, and neutered. He is beautiful and very, very friendly.
He is toilet trained and he knows to ask to go outside. He has no food aggression. He knows "sit", "stay", "wait", "come" and "no".
He loves attention and back rubs. When you scratch his head, he moves forward so you scratch his back.
He has his own blankey which he loves and carries all around the living room. He sleeps in bed with me, and tends to snore. It's very cute.
We have a Pekinese and he is very gentle with her. We are not sure what he is like with cats as we don't have one. We have a cockatiel and he doesn't give him a second look. Our neighbours have chickens which doesn't worry him either, nor do ducks.
Duke has an allergy and we cannot afford to take him to the vet, so we don't really know what kind of allergy.
We need to re-home him very soon because we can't afford his vet bills and his food anymore. Even a foster home would really help. I would even be prepared to help pay some of the petrol bills if someone was to pick him up.

WEASLE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Weasle the Beagle needs a new home. He is currently on a farm so it needs to be rural as he is used to lots of room.
Weasle is friendly, easy going, and eager to please. He loves hunting and playing in the paddocks with the kids. He is a social dog, brought up with cats, dogs, chickens, and children. He is stock and chicken proof.
Weasel has recently been vet checked, is vaccinated, microchipped, and registered. He is entire.
Weasle is used to being housed outside in a kennel and run. He was lead trained as a puppy but is very rarely on a lead now as he walks over the farmland.
Weasle's family are very sad at the thought of rehoming him but their circumstances have changed and he is not getting the time and exercise he is used to. He is very loyal and thrives on companionship so they want him to be with a family who can give him this.

KENJA IS NOW RE-HOMED

Kenja, is an 8 year old neutered female Beagle.
Kenja is looking for a pet home to retire to. She was bred by the MAFBNZ Detector Dog Programme and was placed into our Puppy Walking Programme. She has worked for MAFBNZ for the past 7 yrs with many successes. Kenja does have a couple of health conditions that require long term treatment and involve daily medication and routine blood and urine testing. Kenja would love a home where she will get a daily walk, a soft bed inside to sleep on and a family that will fuss over her. Kenja is great with children but would prefer a home with older children and she gets on well with other dogs. Kenja’s new family needs to be fully aware of what Beagles are like and committed to providing Kenja with the health care that she requires. The potential family will have an interview and property inspection, then a 2 week trial period with Kenja prior to permanent placement. Kenja is free of charge to the right home.

Mac and Abe
MAC AND ABE ARE NOW RE-HOMED

Mac and Abe urgently need a home.
Mac and Abe's home was destroyed in the earthquake. Their owners feel it would be better for their well being to find a new permanent home so have made the difficult decision to part with them.
Mac and Abe are four-and-a-half year old male tricolour Beagles. Both are neutered. Abe is the larger dog; he is relatively quiet and is the dominant dog. Mac is the smaller dog; he is a little more busy and inquisitive.
Both are socialised with other dogs. They have had limited exposure to children but have been great with the kids they have met.
Mac and Abe have been together since they were eight weeks old and in light of the stress of the earthquake, it is vital they are re-homed together.

HUNTER IS NOW RE-HOMED

Hunter urgently needs a loving new home. He is a male tricolour, 18 months old.
Hunter has a very gentle nature and is great with children. He gets on very well with other dogs and would prefer a home with another dog for company.
He is council registered but does need desexing.

CHARLIE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Charlie needs a new loving home. He is a gorgeous 4 and a half year old male Beagle with a very sweet personality. Charlie is tricoloured but is mostly white and doesn't have the saddle back marking. Charlie adores company, loves the company of other dogs and is very socialised with other dogs. He is on the whole a very loveable good boy who's favourite things include playing with his friends, walking/running, cuddles, sleeping in the sun, chasing balls and eating. He is neutered, microchipped and council registered, totally up-to-date with worming/flea treatments/vaccinations and has no health issues.
Charlie can be a little nervous especially around new things so we are looking for a home experienced with dogs (preferably Beagles). Charlie is excellent company, very very loving and adores cuddles and attention.
Charlie is looking for a home where he can be inside, there is some company during the day and a fully fenced secure property. Charlie would prefer a home without young children as he thrives in a calmer environment.
We would like $200.00 for Charlie but the right home is the priority so this is negotiable. A home in or around the Auckland area is preferred as we would like to inspect the property.

FOSTERED

The adorable Petra and Luke are looking for long term (12 months) foster care. Their Mum and Dad are overseas and their current carer is moving and can't take them.
Petra is 11 years old, loves walking, tummy rubs and a good game of catch (she even has her own special ball) Petra loves the company of people. She is great with adults and children. She is tolerant of cats though a bit wary.
Luke is almost 13 years old and is a gentle soul who enjoys the quiet life. He loves to curl up on his cushion and snooze. Luke is great with other dogs, cats and especially children who seem to be drawn to his gentle, tolerant nature.
Both dogs are microchipped, desexed, vaccinated and registered.
Petra and Luke are looking for a temporary home where there is experience with dogs, a full fenced secure section and lots of love and attention.
All costs such as food, flea/worm treatment and vet care will be covered.

Winnie is spayed, registered, vaccinated, microchipped and toilet trained. She has had basic training and knows basic commands.

Picture

Charlie urgently needs a loving new home. Sadly his family is moving house and cannot take him with them.
Charlie is a 10 month old desexed male. He is a well behaved young man, with a lovely temperament. Charlie loves to be around people. He is well socialised with other dogs and is excellent with children. (There are five in his family.)
Charlie is toilet trained, vaccinated and microchipped. He does need some basic training.

LIL ONE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Lil One needs a loving retirement home.
Lil One is 8 years old and has been a breeding bitch for a Beagle breeder. She is now spayed and ready to retire. Lil One is a shy gentle lady. She can be a little timid at first but once she feels safe and secure is very loving. She is great with kids and other dogs. She is also great off the leash.

RUFUS IS NOW RE-HOMED

Rufus is urgently looking for a loving new home. His family are relocating to Australia and cannot take him with them.
Rufus is a 21-month-old tricolour male. He is a friendly, kind natured, happy fellow who loves a good tummy rub and regular walks.
Rufus is great with children. He loves to play fetch, tag and soccer. He has been socialised with other dogs and there are cats in the neighbourhood.
Rufus is vaccinated, registered, desexed, microchipped and follows basic commands such as sit, down, roll over etc. He is currently living in Auckland.
The owners would like $400.00 for him (he comes with a kennel, sleeping basket and folding crate for travelling) but this is negotiable for the right home.

BEN IS NOW RE-HOMED

This truly delightful male Beagle needs a new home. He is confident, well behaved and willing to please; loves life and everything that's going, cuddles, attention, company, other dogs, walks and of course food. Although he is mature he still loves a spot of play but is very gentle and happy to submit.
He has been neutered, council registered, microchipped and treated for fleas and worms. The ideal home would be one that has another dog.

Picture
Carter
CARTER IS NOW RE-HOMED

Carter is a lovely, friendly, loyal 10-year-old family pet. Like most Beagles of this age he is quite docile but sociable and would very much like to spend his mature years with a family who will love him to bits, walk him regularly and treat him like one of the family. He is the most faithful dog you will ever meet. Carter has his cheeky little ways, such as greeting each new day with an enthusiastic run through the house, lying on his tummy with his back legs splayed out sideways and snoring.
He has been brought up in a home with children and has been socialized with cats. He has tricolor markings, is healthy, all his vaccinations are up to date and he is council registered.

LUCKY AND BECKHAM ARE NOW RE-HOMED

He will need a fully fenced property, and owners who have time to exercise him and spend with him.

Finding the right home for Hudson is more important than money, so price is negotiable.

The owners live in Wanganui and have moved house recently to a property that is not set up for dogs, which means Gemma unfortunately cannot be allowed much freedom. Her owners would rather see Gemma go to a home that can provide her with what she needs and see out the retirement she deserves! Her last vet visit was on the 23rd May 2008 for her vaccinations.

Gemma’s kennel, bowls, leads and medical records will go with her. The owners are prepared to give Gemma to the right home for free!

She is a gorgeous, happy dog who would really benefit from being in a family with other dogs as she is such a sociable thing. She is great with children, registered, vaccinated, micro chipped and neutered and has even gained some basic obedience certificates (Although she does not always bother listening!) She enjoys walks, being part of the family and will need a fully fenced section. Price is negotiable to the right home.

HOWIE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Being a Beagle Howie just loves exercise, company and being part of household activities. He walks well on the lead. Like all Beagles he will need a well fenced section. Potential owners will be evaluated for suitability. Price $200.

Jamie
JAIMIE IS NOW RE-HOMED

Jaimie is a beautiful male Beagle who needs a new home.
He is approximately 6 years old, he has been neutered, is house trained and has no medical issues.
Jaimie is a retired breeding dog adopted from MAF who loves lots of exercise, play and attention.
He is a very friendly Beagle, fine with older children but has never been around small children, being such a boisterous dog this probably wouldn’t be a good mix.
The owners are not looking for any payment for Jaimie, they just really want a good home for him with a family who are prepared to spend the time walking him, playing with him and giving him the attention that he deserves.

CARLOS IS NOW RE-HOMED

Carlos is a three-year-old Beagle with papers, bred by P Middleton of Hastings and he needs a new home. His kennel name is Merrybrook Carlos Spencer and his birth date was 12 May 2004. He currently lives in Rotorua.

He is a handsome dog with a solid and stocky build and a lovely nature. However, he can be a bit timid with a lot of people around. His current owners have other larger dogs, a lot of people coming and going from their large lifestyle block property, and a very busy lifestyle. They believe he would be better off in a quieter environment.

He has not had formal training and, like all Beagles, he can be quite obedient...when he wants to be! He has a solid black saddle, has not been desexed, is fully vaccinated, and weighed 14.5kg at his last vet visit on 11/01/07. Price is negotiable to a good home.
